SILICONE RESINS
METHYL SILICONE RESINS
Methyl silicone resins are transparent when formed and relatively hard compared to its silicone counterparts. The hardness can extend to top values of Shore A and maybe past that with proper fillers.
Methyl silicone resins may come in sol/gel form as a viscous liquid or in powder form. Solvent borne form of the resin is not available yet, but alcohol/glycol diluted forms are available.
PHENYL SILICONE RESINS
Phenyl silicone resins are transparent when formed and relatively soft compared to its silicone counterparts. Phenyl group usually accounts for the elasticity and heat resistant of the polymer. With proper additions and fillers, the heat resistance might go up to high degrees as 650 Celsius.
Phenyl silicone resins may come in sol/gel form as a viscous liquid or in powder form. Solvent borne form of the resin is available in xylene and alcohol/glycol diluted forms are available.
VINYL SILICONE RESINS
Vinyl silicone resins are transparent when formed and relatively hard compared to its silicone counterparts. Vinyl silicone resins are yellowish transparent when formed and relatively soft compared to its silicone counterparts. Vinyl silicone resins are used for further applications of cross-linking via opening and curing of the vinylic double bond.
Vinyl silicone resins may come in transparent sol/gel form as a viscous liquid or in yellowish powder form. Solvent borne form of the resin is not available yet, but alcohol/glycol diluted forms are available.
